Dear Evie, Michael and Pam, Susan and Mitch, Connie and Steven, Craig and Susan, and all of Ed’s many other family and friends,

For 58 years, I have had the blessing of Uncle Ed in my life. How can we not miss the sparkle in his eyes, the joy in his voice and the laughter he has brought us so often! Especially with a new friend (he never met a stranger), he showed the love that was the witness to his faith. And oh, how he enjoyed a story (remember the white amur), probably more than his time fishing.

For those of you who were with him as he struggled with ALS in this last time of life, thank you for giving back to him some of the caring, love and joy that he has given to so many.

God bless you through this time of joy, sorrow, and struggle, and may you find peace.

    Mike & Pam,

I’m so sorry for your loss. I only had the opportunity to meet and talk to Ed once, but it was more than obvious how much he loved you both, how much he enjoyed having you with him, and how deeply he appreciated having you there to help care for him. I know you have a loving, caring guardian angel watching over you now.

With much love to you both,
    -Jan

    Mike and Susan,

Very sorry for your loss. Your Dad was a fine man. I haven’t seen him in about a year and didn’t know about the ALS. As recent as last summer he would still drive by the “old house” in Steinmeier. I bought my family’s house and still live on the corner accross from Taylor’s. I still see Alan, Greg and Debbie from time to time (they still own their Mom and Dad’s house) as well as the Georgeopolous kids and their Dad. Lots of memories here.

MrBurns will always have a spot in my heart.I have carried 2 memories from my childhood that Mr.Burns gave me.While I was staying at my grandparents,Mr.Burns would take me for walks.I sucked my thumb as a little girl and he would always ask me what flavor my thumb was.Along the way we would find pebbles to pick up and I would save them until we found a man hole to throw them in.”Shh, listen for the splash.” he would tell me. I always got tired and wanted him to carry me.Poor guy.He had the sweetest, softest heart and will be remembered that way.

Being able to work with Ed for the 5 years that I was in the molding dept at Western Electric was one of the great experiences of my life. I’ve tremendously enjoyed being able to continue to see Ed through the many years since Western Electric closed, and the family environment of those annual get-togethers. Those kinds of connections are rare in Corporate America these days. Ed’s unique personality and genuine kindness are unmatched in the world. He will be missed greatly. I’m so sorry for your loss.

    Evie,
Chuck and I were so sad to hear of Ed’s passing. Don’tknow how I missed seeing it in the paper. We were at St. Lukes Church Christmas program on 12-5 and sat near Mattie and she told us. Both Chuck and I enjoyed Ed and having you as neighbors. You were indeed blessed to have had Ed in your life. I, too feel blessed with Chuck. God is good!
May God continue to be close to you.
